James Block
Director of Finance
James Block has been a real estate investment and finance professional for more than 15 years and is KRE Group's Director of Finance. Since 2002, Mr. Block has been responsible for the sourcing, structuring, negotiation and closing of all real estate debt and equity financings. Mr. Block is also actively involved in the sourcing and due diligence of new acquisitions and development projects for KRE Group. Mr. Block has successfully closed over $800 million in debt and equity financings in more than 35 transactions. From 1994 to 2002, Mr. Block was Vice President of Finance, first at Roseland Property Company and then at The Applied Companies. In these roles, Mr. Block was responsible for more than $1 billion in debt and equity financings for multifamily development projects and for the acquisition and subsequent disposition of more than $750 million of distressed real estate assets and loans. During the course of his real estate career, Mr. Block has been responsible for financing of over 5,000 multifamily units through equity partnerships, construction loans, permanent loans and structured refinancing. Mr. Block received his A.B. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis and his M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
